What is the IK crash rating test

IK crashworthiness level refers to the enclosure of the equipment provided by the external mechanical collision and do not make the equipment subject to harmful effects of the protection (level), applicable to the overall enclosure.
If some parts of the enclosure have different levels of protection, they shall be marked with their corresponding levels of protection. If the relevant product committee decides to require the marking of the IK code, the marking requirements shall be specified in detail in its relevant product standard. Product standards should also specify the marking method used in the following cases:
1. A part of the same enclosure has a different level of protection than other parts.
2. The state of installation will affect the level of protection of the enclosure.
IK impact protection level applicable product range:
1. Computer class: computer, display, host, computer components, medical equipment and other precision instruments, etc.
2. Electronic communication: cell phone, radio frequency device, electronic communication components, etc.
3. Electrical appliances: home appliances, lamps and lanterns, and other types of electrical equipment.
4. Others: camera products, monitoring products, fire-fighting products, etc.
IK code and its corresponding collision energy f correspondence:
Note 1: On March 1, 2024, the upcoming GB/T20138-2023 and IEC 62262:2021 version of the standard stipulates that the collision energy of IK11 level is 50J;
Note 2: Some national standards use a single digit to indicate the specified collision energy, in order to avoid confusion with it, so the characteristics of the digital choice of two-digit representation.
